I've taught hundreds of people how to play the guitar. I find that most people just want to be able to sit around with some friends and play simple songs. Most lessons started out the same way, with me crossing out all the bad information in the classic learn to play guitar books. While I was marking out most of their new book I would be saying "don't do this", "don't do it like that", "there is an easier way to do that" and "just ignore all that". I'd always tell people that someday I was going to write my own book, one that really made it easy for beginners.

One month I had three people come in and say that they had a baby on the way and wanted to be able to play a few songs by the time the baby was born. This was the motivation I needed. Guitar for Parents was born and is by far the best book I've ever seen for learning simple kid songs on the guitar. You already know the songs in your head. With a couple of one and two chord songs you will be playing immediately for your kids, students or grandkids.

It's fun and empowering leaning to play an instrument like the guitar or ukulele. Get the book or check out the free youtube guitar lessons below. You can do it. I'll show you how.
