In 2011 Victor was asked to write a collection of character songs to accompany the Ellsbury- Read character building program in Madras Oregon. The Ellsbury-Read Project aims to teach and model character traits in the community and empower kids to have good character in their lives. CHARACTER stands for Courage, Honesty, Adaptability, Respect, Attitude, Compassion, Teamwork, Excellence and Responsibility. Each trait has it's own song on the Character songs collection. Teachers and families can use these songs as an opening to talk about Character and why it is so important in being sucessful in life.
Jacoby Ellsbury is a Major League baseball player for the Boston Red Sox and grew up in Madras. Mr. Read was a long time advocate for kids in central Oregon before passing away. Please feel free to use these songs in programs, projects or in any non commercial way that helps schools and communities.
